This week it looks like two home theater sets are launching in Malaysia with both offering different immersive listening experiences. After Sonos, today Harman Kardon launched their new Enchant series and Onyx speakers.
Enchant Series
For this Enchant series; The Enchant 1100, Enchant Speaker and Enchant Sub are recommended for use together as a home theater set. Enchant 1100 is a Dolby Atmos soundbar with MultiBeam technology to ensure the audio stage is wide and wide. Enchant 1100 comes with 8+3 audio drivers 60W woofer and 50W tweeter and audio transducer 6+3+2 racetrack audio driver, tweeter and top beam audio driver.
For connectivity, Harman Kardon Enchant 1100 supports optical wire or Bluetooth connection. Quick access to audio streaming platforms supported up to over 300 different platforms. The Smart Dialogue Enhancement system is also offered to ensure the dialogue in the movie is clearer. The soundbar also comes with a modern design suitable for matching with various furniture.
For Enchant Speaker, it is a portable Dolby Atmos speaker with 3D audio that can mimic a wide immersive listening experience. It supports Bluetooth, WiFi and AirPlay connectivity as well as Spotify Connect. This speaker also comes with an automatic tuning system that can ensure balanced and stable audio according to the user's taste. Enchant Speaker is equipped with 1+1+3 tweeter audio driver, woofer, and top beam audio driver.
Next is the Enchant Sub as its own sub-woofer. This product will complement the use of soundbars and speakers to become a home theater. Enchant Sub is able to rock the room watching a movie or listening to music with low frequency bass giving an immersive experience without realizing it.
Lastly is another more affordable soundbar, the Enchant 900. It is an alternative to the Enchant 1100 in a smaller size. Interestingly, despite only having 9 audio drivers in it – all features and functions are still maintained. The difference is, the audio staging on the Enchant 900 is limited and the spatial audio is limited to 5.1.4 instead of 7.1.4.
Onyx Studio
If you remember this speaker, it once went viral in Malaysia because with every purchase of a Samsung Galaxy device in the past this speaker was given for free. Now after various generations and designs, the ninth generation which is Onyx Studio 9 is launched. It is a portable speaker by maintaining the same audio profile as a soundbar.
It is designed to be easily carried anywhere and at the same time is also suitable as a decoration in the house when not in use. The Auracast feature is also supported so it can be used with other speakers with the same connectivity features.
FLOW/FEEL series
At this event, Harman Kardon Malaysia also announced the presence of several audio systems for vehicles under the FLOW and FEEL series. Not many specifications have been revealed compared to the Enchant series, but what is certain is that Harman Kardon is targeting drivers of cars such as the BMW, Mini Cooper and Toyota Alphard.
A brief explanation from the Harman Kardon representative told us that the FLOW and FEEL series bring home movies into the car with the familiar Harman Kardon audio experience. The usage is also the same as the user can choose whether to connect the main speaker only or add a sub-woofer.
Sale Price
Each Harman Kardon speaker will be sold in stages. Some products have already been sold since last September and some others will arrive in November and December. For in-car speakers, authorized dealers and some car accessory stores have already offered them for the past few months.
