Indonesia Does Not Allow iPhone 16 Sales Because Apple Does Not Meet Local Regulations

The Indonesian government has now confirmed that Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 16, is not allowed to be sold in the country, because Apple has not yet met the local regulations that have been implemented in the country. These regulations cover investment requirements and also renew local content certification.

Previously, Apple was ready to receive a certificate of authorization to sell their products in Indonesia, but the certificate has already expired and needs to be renewed. According to the Indonesian authorities, Apple is said to have not reached the previous investment commitment figure.

In addition, Indonesia also has several additional regulations, including the option of product production in Indonesia, local application development, and also focusing on the creation of innovative products in the country. Apple is said to have chosen the third option, and has opened three academies in the country.
