Intel's Panther Lake Processing Chip Showcased During Lenovo Tech World

During the Lenovo Tech World event during the day, where Lenovo has shown some new technologies and products such as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Aurora Edition laptop, Intel, through their CEO, Pat Gelsinger has also made an appearance at the event to talk about technology - the latest technology introduced by the company.

Among them is their upcoming thin and light laptop processor chip, which goes by the code name Panther Lake. Intel has apparently started manufacturing the processing chip, and an early model of the processing chip was shown at the Lenovo Tech World event.

What we know so far about the Panther Lake chips is that Intel will once again produce them, using their latest 18A process. From the processing chips shown during the event, it can be seen that Panther Lake will probably not keep the design with LPDDRX memory built into the SoC chip, and will probably go back to using memory soldered to the motherboard like their thin and light laptop processing chips before this.

In the meantime, Panther Lake is also expected to use an Intel Xe3 graphics processing chip with the code name Celestial later, which is expected to provide a better level of performance and efficiency than what is offered with the Xe2 used with the Lunar Lake chip.

Similar to this year's launch, it is expected that more details about the Intel Panther Lake chip will be known more generally around the middle of 2025.
