Klook And Google Cloud Collaboration Enriches Vacation Experience With AI



One of the biggest problems when you try to plan a vacation, whether for yourself or for family and friends, is choosing a place to stay and also activities for the vacation.



Klook, one of the largest vacation planning platforms in Asia recently spoke at the Let's Talk AI event by Google about their collaboration on how they use artificial intelligence technology to advance their application to improve and simplify the customer experience on the application.



For customers, Klook announced that they will come up with interesting features such as the formulation of reviews using AI on the application, which is seen as quite useful for accommodation and activities that have hundreds or thousands of reviews. This feature is seen to help users save time reading a lot of reviews, and help them make a decision to buy or not quickly.



Another new feature that will be introduced is a comparison feature that allows users to compare two or more activities or accommodations that can also be used to allow Klook customers to make choices more quickly and easily.


Klook's activity filter is also updated using artificial intelligence, where they take advantage of Vertex AI and Gemini 1.5 technology to help the application answer simple questions about places of residence or selected activities.



Using this feature is also quite easy. After selecting the list of activities or accommodation you want, there is an icon that can be pressed to allow you to create a new list to compare the locations or activities selected.


In terms of conversations with accommodation or activity owners, if you're trying to book in a country or location where you don't speak the language, Klook now also uses Gemini 1.5 to automatically translate any of your questions and answers in that country's language.



Features such as review summaries and accommodation comparison lists are expected to be introduced soon, as early as November 2024. In the future, Klook may also introduce a feature of itinerary recommendations based on your activity history and accommodation based on your stay history and activity purchase -your previous activity.
