MacBook Pro M4 Leaked Before Apple Announced

An Apple MacBook Pro M4 has been leaked before its official launch after an unboxing video was uploaded by a Russian YouTube channel. It reveals some of the designs that have been retained as well as minor changes made compared to the MacBook Pro M3 that was launched last year.

The first is of course the use of the Apple M4 chip which was previously only used in the new iPad Pro. This chip comes with 10 CPU cores and offers up to 25% performance improvement over the Apple M3 chip. Next is the most basic model now comes with 16GB of RAM and no longer 8GB of RAM. The criticism that Apple has received over the years is that 8GB of RAM is too small a memory size for modern computers.

The increase in the amount of RAM is to meet the needs of Apple Intelligence which is run directly on the computer. A more practical change is that the MacBook Pro M4 is now equipped with three Thunderbolt 4 ports instead of just two Thunderbolt 3 before. More devices and monitors can be connected and data transfer rates are faster.

The body design is still the same with boxy side panels and a shiny Apple logo on the cover. The new Apple MacBook, Mac Mini and iPad Mini are expected to be launched in early November.
