The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 flagship processor chip was finally officially launched a while ago with the use of a new generation CPU Cortex-X925 under the Armv9 family that was announced last May.
Dimensity 9400 is still equipped with 8 CPU cores consisting of one Cortex-X925 core at a speed of 3.62 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at a speed of 3.3 GHz and four Cortex-A720 cores at a speed of 2.4GHz. On paper the Dimensity 9400 is the most powerful smartphone chip on the market for Android flagship devices bypassing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
It is also equipped with an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU and an eighth-generation NPU 890 that allows it to run various AI models such as Gemini Nano directly from a smartphone. MediaTek says the Dimensity 9400 is 41% more powerful than the Dimensity 9300, 40% more powerful in ray-tracing but reduces power consumption by up to 44% through the use of TSMC's 3nm technology.
This flagship chip supports LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 + MCQ storage, capable of supporting up to 320MP camera, 8K 60FPS video recording, WQHD+ screen up to 180Hz, foldable tri-screen device support, WiFI 7, 5G Sub 6GHz and bluetooth 5.4.
The first devices that will use Dimensity 9400 are the Oppo Find X8 series and the Vivo X200 series which will be launched in the near future.
