OnePlus has already launched their new operating system which is OxygenOS 15. OxygenOS 15 focuses on the integration of AI with the speed of device performance. OnePlus also claims that the Parallel Processing feature can make animation transitions in the device smoother for scrolling and opening/closing apps.
Following Apple's move with iOS 18.1, some new Siri invocation-like animations are also shown such as when charging and installing apps. The screen lock design is also now similar to the iPhone with images that can have a depth effect for widgets placed behind the background image. OnePlus also took the AOSP code for multi-tasking features, where the device is easier to use many applications simultaneously with an adaptive interface according to the screen size of the device.
For iPhone users, OxygenOS 15 now has a direct sharing feature called Share with iPhone. It uses the O+ Connect system by Oppo. Another borrowed Oppo feature is the ability to remove mirror reflections in photos using AI. Some other AI features for photos are also provided such as AI Detail Boost and AI Unblur. OnePlus Notes also receive generative AI integration and also Intelligent Search like Siri and Google Gemini which can control device settings as well as deep search for content and other features in the device.
Another AI feature is AI Reply which can be used through the sidebar, where it can be used in any context-aware messaging application to help reply to messages. Of course, Circle to Search is also supported on OxygenOS 15. OxygenOS 15 is currently supported on the OnePlus 12 with the update rolling out in stages starting October 30.
