OpenAI this week completed a $6.6 billion funding injection from a number of investors, valuing their company at $150 billion. This at the same time makes OpenAI a company that has received high funding injections in Silicon Valley. Among the companies that invested were Microsoft and NVIDIA, while Apple withdrew from investing in OpenAI.
According to the Financial Times report, during the discussion for investment, some exclusive terms were also expressed by OpenAI, including requesting that the investors in question not invest in competing companies.
It is said that OpenAI has asked investors to avoid investing in companies such as Anthropic and even xAI. However, it is not known whether these various companies and investment firms will follow suit, or will continue to choose to invest in other competing companies.
