Qi2 will be a trend starting in 2025. This technology is already available on iPhone 12 and above and for Android it is only offered to HMD Skyline. Qi2 is a universal 15W magnetic wireless charger. In the future, Oppo Find X8 will also support it with some unique accessories have been shown.
Oppo's two new magnetic accessories are a 5000mAh magnetic powerbank and a 50W magnetic charger. Interestingly, both these accessories are well supported by iPhone but on Oppo's own devices – a special frame has to be used. Oppo also showed a magnetic pole for use in cars.
At the moment it is not sure if the Oppo Find X8 series really supports Qi2 or vice versa. It is quite strange why Oppo devices still need a special frame and cannot be directly attached to the body of the device. Let's wait for more details and see if these magnetic accessories will also be marketed in Malaysia.
