This year, we are ready to see Johor and Kuala Lumpur succeed in attracting a number of international investments, especially focusing on data centers. Now, the Pahang government has also shared that it wants to take similar steps in attracting data center investors to the state.
However, Pahang's participation is not expected to be as high as Kuala Lumpur or Johor which have managed to attract around 40 to 50 data centers, respectively. Pahang said they still need to look at other factors, especially the supply of water and also electricity for the people's use so as not to be disturbed due to the data center that uses these two energies to a high extent. In addition, the need for a good fiber optic connection is also required for data center purposes.
Several locations that are said to be suitable for the development of data centers in Pahang include Kuantan, Gambang and Bentong.
