Qualcomm Snapdragon X Mini PC Will Still Launch Despite Developer Kit Cancellation

Qualcomm canceled the Snapdragon Development Kit that was originally going to be given away last June. It's a kit that simplifies the process for developers to produce mini PCs using the ARM-based Snapdragon X family of chips. Although the kit has been cancelled, Qualcomm insists that plans to launch desktop mini PCs with Snapdragon X will still go ahead as announced during last year's Snapdragon Summit event.

According to the official statement given, the Snapdragon Development Kit had to be canceled because the products produced did not meet the standards that had been set. To those who have placed an order, money will be returned. Those who have already received the kit will also receive a refund but the kit does not have to be returned to Qualcomm.

We'll be attending the Snapdragon Summit 2024 event next week and at this event the new kit will likely be shown alongside Qualcomm's latest mobile, PC, wearable and audio chips. Among Qualcomm's future plans is to provide discrete GPU support that can be used with Snapdragon X chips
