Samsung today announced the introduction of the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature for Malaysian users, through the Samsung Health application for Galaxy Watch users. Through it, it monitors the heartbeat, and atrial fibrillation (arrhythmic conditions characterized by fast and irregular pulse rates, due to disturbances in the sinoatrial node) – thus making it easier for Samsung Galaxy Watch users to better understand their current heart condition.
The introduction of this new health feature complements Samsung's previous offering which can already monitor blood pressure and even pulse.
For those of you who use a Galaxy Watch and run Wear OS 4.0 and newer, you can check this new IHRN feature offering through the Samsung Health application. If you receive any IHRN notification while wearing a smart watch, you can also perform an ECG using the same watch for further review. As always, Samsung advises that the Galaxy Watch is not a device of change, and is designed as a measure to avoid anything unwanted.
