Samsung Starts Production of PM9E1 SSD – Comes With 14.5GB/s Data Read Speed



Samsung, the leading technology company known for their wide range of electronic devices has recently announced that they will start releasing their latest and greatest SSD storage to date, the Samsung PM9E1.


It comes with storage options of 512GB, 1TB, 2TB and 4TB, which is seen as the largest storage size for consumer SSD storage to date. Apart from that, Samsung also said that their SSDs all come with data reading rates as high as 14.5GB/s and data writing rates of 13GB/s and use the PCIe 5.0 x8 interface.



For this, Samsung has combined the use of their eighth generation V-NAND storage chip and also an SSD controller chip built using their own 5nm process. Samsung says that the combination of these two components allows this Samsung PM9E1 SSD to be used for all types of PCs, including the AI ​​generation laptops that are on the market today.


For those laptops, Samsung also says that this PM9E1 SSD comes with 50 percent less electricity consumption than their previous models, and this is suitable for today's thin and light laptops.


In the meantime, this SSD is also equipped with a number of new security features such as Security Protocol and Data Model (SPDM) v1.2 which is said to be able to curb hacker attacks even in the production phase of this SSD.


For now, it is still unknown when Samsung will sell this PM9E1 SSD.
