Next year all Samsung Galaxy S25 models will reportedly use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The presence of Dr TM Roh during the Snapdragon Summit event this week shows Samsung's commitment to use a chip that is currently labeled as the fastest on the market. It is now rumored that the Galaxy S series will only return to using the Exynos chip on the Galaxy S27 series according to Ice Universe.
According to this leading leaker's account, the Eyxnos 2500 chip is not used in the Galaxy S25 series because Samsung is facing production issues. This caused them to use the full Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Therefore its use will be skipped and the development of the chip code-named Project Ulysses will begin.
Project Ulysses will be manufactured using Samsung's 2nm technology with production expected to begin at the end of 2026. Therefore it will only be used on Galaxy S27 series devices. The performance of Eyxnos chips in recent times is behind the performance of Snapdragon and Dimensity chips which makes users feel that the purchase is less worthwhile.
