Sharp has announced a pro version for the AQUOS R9 that was launched last May. The new model features a different design but still retains the Leica camera system as one of the highlights.
The AQUOS R9 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Pro IGZO OLED QHD+ screen with a 240Hz refresh rate. This is paired with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. In addition, it runs the Andoid 14 operating system with three years of OS updates and five years of security. Followed by built-in AI-based features that can condense voicemails into written text, as well as automatically detect keywords from conversations and save them as important notes.
The camera system used consists of a Vario-Summicron 50.3MP for the main purpose, wide-angle and telephoto supporting the Leica system. In particular, the main camera is equipped with a 1/0.98-inch image sensor that is over 1-inch in size. The wide-angle camera can take ultra-wide-angle and macro photos up to 122°. Meanwhile the telephoto camera supports 2.8x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. Sharp further equips the device with a 5000mAh battery and IPX5/IPX8/IP6X waterproof rating.
