Sony Audio Products Start Supporting Audio Switch And Google Find My Device Search

Who doesn't like it when we lose things, especially tiny TWS earphones. Once it is lost, whether it continues to lose or you have to wait a long time to get a replacement unit. Starting today, your Sony audio products will be easier to track. Recently, Sony audio products have been updated with Google Find My Device search support.

Last April, Google expanded Find My Device in Malaysia to support the tracking of more devices using a system similar to Apple's Find My, where other users' Android devices become search nodes. You can turn on sound to locate, track with Google Maps, or lock the device by putting it into lost mode.

Another interesting thing is the Audio Switch support, which is a multipoint feature for connection to two devices simultaneously by Google. It works as fast and smoothly as if the AirPods connection on the iPhone was transferred to the MacBook. Audio Switch uses Bluetooth LE and it is compatible with most modern Android devices.

At the time of writing, the Find My Device feature is already available on the WH-1000XM5 but it has just been more widely distributed along with Audio Switch via software update 2.3.1. According to the source, the WF-1000XM5 and Sony LinkBuds S also received the same update. Gradually this year, more and more non-smartphone gadgets are starting to support Google Find My Device – is yours ready?
