Sony LinkBuds Fit And LinkBuds Open Listed In Malaysia At RM999

Sony expands its range of wireless earphones with two new offerings, LinkBuds Fit and LinkBuds Open. Our review found each listed at RM999 per unit. However, it has not been confirmed about the specific availability.

The original Sony Linkbuds were first announced in early 2022 which had a rather unique design like a donut. The new version is now known as LinkBuds Open which also uses a similar design but is smaller with an 11mm audio driver. Sony complements it again with a 'wing' design called "Air Fitting Supporters" aimed at reducing pressure on the ear when worn. Next makes it comfortable to wear in the long term.

With voice control capabilities now built into LinkBuds Open allows users to adjust audio, skip tracks and switch ANC modes without having to ask Siri or Google Assistant to do so. It is marketed to be able to work for eight hours with the earphones, and increases to 22 hours with the help of the charging pod.

There is also an 'auto battery save' option that will turn off features such as EQ settings, voice controls and others automatically when the earphone battery is below 20%. Quick pairing can be done via Bluetooth 5.3 which also offers multi-device connectivity. Meanwhile the supported codecs are SBC, AAC and LC3. These earphones also have the same V2 chip as the WF-1000XM5 earphones, and support both ANC and ambient modes.

The new LinkBuds Fit features a small and lightweight body. It also has a winged design for long-term comfort. Also has Dynamic Driver X and V2 chip from Sony's premium earphones for better sound quality. In addition to also supporting both ANC and ambient modes. Fast pairing can be done via bluetooth 5.3 with SBC, AAC, LC3 and LDAC codec support. LinkBuds Fit can work for 5.5 hours with the earphones and increase to 20 hours with the help of the charging pod.
