Sony seems to be launching not only earphones but also new speakers under the LinkBuds series. It is the first speaker for the series as the previous products were mostly wireless earphone sets. Known as the LinkBuds Portable Wireless Speaker, Sony claims this wireless speaker can operate for 25 hours on a full charge.
At the same time can also be used independently using the special charger dock provided. It also offers a Woofer (X-Balanced Speaker Unit) for a deeper bass sound along with a dedicated Tweeter that is able to improve vocal clarity better. It can also be paired with two separate units to create a stereo audio effect. Also given IPX4 protection which means this speaker is waterproof instead of dust. The selling price is $179.99 (~RM748) and there is no information on availability for the Malaysian market.
