The feature of saving music on the device makes it easy for Spotify users to listen to music when there is no internet connection. It is especially useful when on an airplane or in an area without internet access. Spotify today announced Offline Backup which allows users to stream music that is not manually saved to be listened to without an internet connection.
Offline Backup view a list of songs that have been played or music that has been arranged (queue) in a playlist. Spotify will save this music into the application cache automatically. The Offline Backup playlist can be seen on the front page of the application when it is opened without an internet connection. Both users need to activate the Offline Listening feature in the application settings.
At this time Offline Backup can only be used by Spotify Premium customers on the Android and iOS versions of the application starting today.
