Tesla Robovan Also Shown With A Capacity Of 20 Passengers And A Strange Design

Tesla has officially entered the era of mass cloud transportation after showing off the Robovan design. It is the first van ever produced by Tesla with the capacity to carry up to 20 passengers and self-driving capabilities. Because it is a self-driving vehicle, the Robovan does not have a window in the front or a steering wheel and control pedals in the cockpit.

At the We Robot event, the interior of the Robovan was equipped with only four rows of seats with vehicle doors sliding to the side like a conventional van. The roof has windows but not of the panoramic type that exists on existing Tesla cars. A giant screen is placed on the front wall to show various information to passengers.

The promised self-driving capabilities may be interesting but there is no denying that the Robovan design is ugly as it looks like an iron with a lot of lights. It can make the design of the Cybertruck look like it received a Pininfarina touch if placed next to the Robovan.

Elon Musk said the Robovan is not just a prototype but a public transport that Tesla will sell. In addition to carrying passengers, it can be configured to also carry cargo if needed.

Musk sees a future for the Robovan to be rented out when it wants to carry more passengers than a Model Y can carry. Unlike the Cyercab, Elon Musk hasn't put a date on when the Robovan will begin operations.
