The number of dismissals of TikTok Malaysia employees involves 481 people

Following on from the report of the dismissal of TikTok employees in Malaysia, it has now been confirmed that it involves 481 employees. For now, TikTok Malaysia still has around 3700 employees in Malaysia after the dismissal.

With this new confirmation, the figure is 481 employees, instead of reaching 700 people as said in the internet arena.

TikTok is reducing their manual labor figures in parallel with the use of technology and artificial intelligence in managing repetitive tasks – allowing them to achieve higher accuracy rates. A number of affected employees are employees in the content monitoring and filtering department.

The reduction of these employees is not expected to have any impact on their operations in Malaysia, including actively cooperating with the authorities. TikTok is also expected to open several new positions, focusing on cloud computing and data centers in Malaysia.
