Toyota And Boston Dynamics Announce Collaboration For Research And Development Of Human Robots

The Toyota Research Institute and Boston Dynamics have now announced a collaboration, where both parties will share expertise in developing human-shaped robots. For this purpose, it will combine the Large Behavior Models technology by Toyota and also the Atlas robot developed by Boston Dynamics.

Boston Dynamics is already known for developing robotics that can move in various environmental conditions and has shown several different forms of robots before. As for TRI, they are ready to develop open source models and datasets involving the arena of robotics and artificial intelligence. Combining this expertise, it is expected to be able to produce robots that can be used for basic task purposes.

For now, the collaboration between these two parties is more focused on research involving human-shaped robots. No commercial collaborations have been announced so far.
