Vivo OriginOS 5 Launched With Atomic Island and Various AI Features

The iPhone 15 series introduces a Dynamic Island that allows the camera notch to change shape dynamically to provide control of music applications, video applications and various important notifications of the device without having to open the application in full screen. This feature has been followed by Android manufacturers with Vivo showing their Atomic Island design simultaneously with the announcement of the new operating system OriginOS 5.

The use of the name Atomic Island is used because according to Vivo more application control can be done than Dynamic Island. Shared screenshots show that quick app launch shortcuts are supported along with the usual features of music, video, app control, battery charging and the latest weather information.

Atomic Island will be given to Vivo devices through the OriginOS 5 update which is based on Android 15 later. Information such as addresses for example can be pulled into Atomic Island to directly open the GPS application or perform a more in-depth search.

OriginOS 5 also features an artificial intelligence (AI) capability named Xiao V. Xiao V can translate phone calls or teleconferences in real time. It can also perform image searches similar to Google Circle to Search as well as answer math questions with a complete workflow.

For those who are not very good at writing, Xiaomi V can change what is typed into a different writing tone. In addition, Vivo says OriginOS 5 opens applications 15% faster and application switching time is also 25% smoother. OriginOS 5 will open an open Beta testing session in November for select devices.
