X or better known as Twitter has come with all kinds of updates that add and remove all kinds of features since it was taken over by Elon Musk a few years ago. One of the "old" features introduced is Community Notes, where users of the platform can add context to any content shown on the platform.
The Community Notes feature is seen as very helpful in adding information to comments, especially in terms of adding context, proof of whether the comment is true or false and so on. However, one of the issues with Community Notes seems to be that it is too slow.
Because of this, it seems that the X developers have revamped a little how the use of this feature can be accelerated and have introduced the Lightning Notes feature that benefits 800 thousand users under the Community Notes program that will help in giving the right context to Twitter tweets faster.
According to X, who said they tested the feature, Lightning Notes can be issued in as fast as 14 minutes 33 seconds after a Community Notes note is written, and 18 minutes 20 seconds after the original tweet is written on the platform.
This test shows that Lightning Notes can be shown in just a few minutes if a note is seen to be inaccurate and needs correction in terms of providing a more accurate context.
The verification process of Community Notes previously took more than an hour to be issued, where it had to go through the verification process by users with access to Community Notes before it could be issued.
The X party did not say how they have speeded up the process regarding the Lightning Notes function, but our expectation is that it is a step to introduce notifications about something faster before the more accurate and in-depth Community Notes are introduced.
Even so, it seems the feature has been rolling out for a few weeks, with X saying that so far, 400 Lightning Notes have been rolled out in less than an hour after they were written, and more than 60 have been shown in less than an hour. hours after the recipe was written and found to have gone viral.
When a note is found to come with Lightning Notes, it will also come with a lightning-shaped icon to make it easier for users to distinguish whether it is a Lightning Note or a Community Note.
