You Can No Longer Remove Android Devices On Phone Link In Windows 11

Phone Link is a feature that helps me a lot in my daily tasks. Android devices are connected to Windows 11 devices for easier control. For example hotspot connection, file transfer, checking notifications, answering phone calls and replying to messages or for some devices becoming a web camera for teleconferences.

The new update for Phone Link makes me angry with Microsoft for inconveniencing users like me who have more than one Android device.

Phone Link does not have the option to remove the device.

Phone Link on Windows 11 no longer allows users to remove linked devices. It becomes a problem if the user ever links two devices and above because both devices will be detected by the computer and often ask which device to connect. Then the notification will also be problematic. A workaround is to turn off the automatic connection feature.

For now it is still not sure if this is a new “feature” or a bug in the Windows 11 24H2 update.
