All iPhone 17 May Come With 120Hz LTPO Screens

Next year, Apple is expected to replace the iPhone Plus model with Slim. This model is said to use benchmark specifications but for basic use such as having only one camera. Recently, ETNews reported that all iPhone 17 will be equipped with a 120Hz LTPO OLED screen.

As of 2021, the ProMotion feature for the screen to refresh at a rate of 120Hz is limited to Pro models only. This is because, Apple's ProMotion feature requires LTPO technology for it to work properly. Starting in 2025 for all four iPhone 17 models, Apple will use LTPO OLED panels on all of them. Samsung and LG are said to still be Apple's loyal suppliers.

Samsung was chosen as the main supplier for all iPhone 17, while LG was chosen to supply the screens of the Slim and Pro models only. Apple is also reportedly looking for Chinese suppliers but for now it is only accepting supplies of 60Hz LTPS OLED panels for the base model iPhone. If these reports come true next year, we could see the end for 60Hz screens on smartphones. Let's wait together.
