Android 16 Will Integrate Bluetooth LE Audio Features For Audio Sharing

Bluetooth LE or Bluetooth Low Energy is a quality Bluetooth connection method such as tethering two accessories simultaneously to one device with low power. It is famous for its audio products through LE Audio which became popular in 2020 and after two years Bluetooth SIG introduced Auracast, which is Bluetooth LE Audio for audio sharing.

It works according to certain audio accessories such as TWS JBL Tour Pro 3 can listen to the audio being played on JBL Xtreme 4. Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 2 and Elite 10 Gen 2 also support it. In addition to being able to communicate between two different products, it can also be used to share audio sources to two different audio accessories in one Android device. This feature will be introduced by Google in Android 16 for Pixel 8 and Pixel 9.

The way of use is for example Nothing Ear is connected to Pixel 9 Pro XL and music is playing on Apple Music, users can then tether Nothing Ear (a) to give to other users to listen to the same music without them connecting to their own device. This feature is seen to be built into Android 16 and other device manufacturers have to activate it themselves if they want to offer it to their respective users.
