Apple Is Developing a “Siri LLM” That Talks More Naturally

Siri in iOS 18 is much smarter than its previous iterations. But compared to Gemini or ChatGPT, it’s like a baby crawling while everyone else is already running. According to a Bloomberg report, Siri’s shortcomings will be addressed with a new version that will be released by 2026.

This new version is being developed under the name “Siri LLM”. With the help of a speech model, Siri will be able to talk like a real human being, which Gemini and ChatGPT can do. Testing is being done on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, and it’s expected to be shown off by the end of 2025, with it being rolled out to users starting in 2026.

The ability to speak like a human and understand conversations using more natural language will provide a more satisfying interaction experience. Our issue with Siri and Google Assistant is that it still sounds like talking to a robot.
