Apple may have quietly stopped selling Lightning port to 3.5mm audio jack adapters. According to a MacRumors report, product stock is now listed as sold out in the majority of Apple's online stores, including in Malaysia. It may be an early sign that only existing stock will continue to be sold until the sale ends.
The adapter was first offered by Apple through the iPhone 7 series in 2016 which was not equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack. Since last year, Apple has replaced the Lightning port to USB on the iPhone to meet EU and Indian requirements that mandate the use of USB-C to standardize the charging system of electronic devices.
With all of Apple's new generation products no longer using Lightning, perhaps this is the perfect time to stop selling these accessories worldwide.
