The Apple TV+ platform offers exclusive TV series and movie content produced by Apple itself. Although the content offered is interesting, the number of Apple TV+ subscribers is still very low compared to its competitors even after five years of operation. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple will offer their films to other platforms as a revenue-generating measure.
Films will be licensed to third-party streaming platforms and online stores to allow them to be rented or purchased digitally. The content of the Apple TV+ series however at this point will remain exclusive to their own platform only. Among the films that have been produced by Apple are Napoleon, Killer of The Flower Moon, CODA, Argylle, Tetris and Greyhound.
The change is believed to be done to generate opinion as Apple TV+ has yet to generate any profit compared to other Apple services. Apple TV+ was recently offered on Prime Video in the United States. If this report turns out to be true, Apple will follow in the footsteps of HBO who have been offering their content on Netflix since last year.
