With the launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processing chip, ASUS has today announced the launch of their latest smart gaming device, the ASUS ROG Phone 9 which comes in three new device options, namely the ASUS ROG Phone 9, ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro and ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition.
In terms of design, this device series comes with a 6.78-inch screen display with the same 2400×1080 resolution, with a refresh rate as high as 185Hz with a High Brightness Mode brightness value of 1600 nits.
The ASUS ROG Phone 9 model is equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and 256GB and 512GB storage options. ROG Phone 9 Pro comes with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, while for the ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition, it comes with 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage. It also powers the latest Android 15 operating system with the latest ROG UI interface.
Another upgrade shown on the ROG Phone 9 Pro series is from the camera aspect. It uses the latest Sony Lytia 700 50MP sensor that comes with a 6-axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 4.0 system that promises a more stable image and also a faster shutter even with severe shaking.
The other two cameras used are the 5MP macro camera on the regular ROG Phone 9 model, and the 32MP telephoto camera with x3 zoom feature with built-in OIS system. As for the third camera lens, it comes with a 13MP ultra-wide sensor with a 0.7x zoom feature.
With the ROG Phone 9 series as well, you can use the right AirTrigger button to act as a camera shutter button to allow you to take photos or record videos more easily. The device also now comes with a Photo Vibe filter feature that shows more attractive colors in photos
This time, the screen display offered by AniMe Vision is larger with 648 LED points that are not only capable of supporting larger images, but also text in Mandarin and Japanese.
Not only that, specifically for the two devices ROG Phone 9 Pro and ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition, this AniMe Vision display comes with the ability to play some simple games offered through the Armory Crate software which also houses various settings to improve the performance of this device.
ASUS is also seen to have added additional AI features for some games such as Genshin Impact, Mobile Legends and so on that speed up and make it easier for you to play your favorite games.
Speaking of the first, ASUS has also introduced the GameCool 9 feature which comes with the same cooling system as the previous ROG Phone 8, but with a larger graphite layer. In the meantime, the battery of the ROG Phone 9 series has also been improved to 5800mAH with HyperCharge 65W charging and also Qi 1.3 wireless charging which can charge this device at a rate of 15W.
ASUS ROG Phone 9 is available in Storm White and Phantom Black colors, while the ROG Phone 9 Pro and ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition models are available in Phantom Black only. For the global market, the ASUS ROG Phone 9 comes with two model options at a price of 1100 Euro (12GB, 256GB) and 1150 Euro (12GB, 512GB), while the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro is offered at a price of 1300 Euro and the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition is offered at a price of 1500 Euros.
