Canalys has now released the latest analysis data related to incoming sales of smartphones in the third quarter of 2024, involving phone brands in Malaysia. Through the data shared by Canalys, Oppo ranks first in terms of stock shipments to Malaysia, with a 16% market share.
Occupying the second place is Samsung with a 13% share, and Xiaomi in the third place with a 13% share as well. In the 4th place is Transsion which is famous for its Infinix and Tecno brands. Interestingly, they also have a market share of 13% in Malaysia for the period in question. Realme is ranked 5th with a 12% share. The difference in market share between these five brands is not much different. These five brands also hold 67% of the total device market in the third quarter of 2024 in Malaysia.
Brands Oppo, Transsion and Realme showed improvement, while Samsung and Xiaomi were seen to lose a little market share compared to last year. Transsion showed the highest increase compared to last year – likely because their device offerings are very competitively priced.
