ChatGPT Search Introduced – Allows Users to Search the Web, Alternative to Google

OpenAI today announced ChatGPT Search, enabling users to search the web directly using ChatGPT. For this purpose, a special button is provided on the ChatGPT box, where users can select the "Search" button, and then perform a related search. ChatGPT Search is seen as an evolution of SearchGPT – which OpenAI labels as an early prototype, and various learnings from it are integrated into ChatGPT Search.

Through our testing, it shows search results for a query quickly, and organizes them well by context. However, there are still some of our searches that show incorrect answers, and need to be tried several times. However, this may be used as an alternative to Google - not to mention that lately the results are less relevant and need to be tried several times to get the desired results.

The OpenAI side says that with this ChatGPT Search access, it can provide better answers to users, in addition to making it easier for users to see sources for information. Various follow-up questions can also be asked directly, in the form of a normal conversation, at the same time simplifying the process of searching and understanding something.

ChatGPT Search is offered to all paid users starting today. An introduction for free version users will follow in a few months. OpenAI also said it will continue to improve this search support, as well as use the advantages of artificial intelligence model reasoning in displaying better search results to users.
