DOJ Wants Google to Sell Chrome and Separate Play Store From Android

Last August, the United States court found that Google was operating as a monopoly and agreed with the findings of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) that claimed they monopolized the search engine business.

According to a Bloomberg report, the DOJ will now force Google to sell Chrome. Because Chrome is used to promote other services owned by Google, it makes other companies with similar services unable to compete. Among other recommendations is not to include Search and Play Store in Android.

In addition, Google will also be instructed to share more information with advertisers to provide control over how their ads are displayed to users. Website owners should be given the option not to allow their content to be used to train Google's artificial intelligence (AI). Finally any exclusive contracts such as Apple using Search as the default search engine will be banned.
