Facebook has now shared that they will make changes to the metric count for content sharing, and will switch to using "View" as the main metric count for comparing various content on the platform.
With this change, all videos and Reels played will be counted using View. The same goes for Stories, photos and even text sharing which will also take into account the Views metric as a viewing metric.
Facebook says these changes will be reflected through the Meta Business Suite and Professional Dashboard starting in the next few weeks. In addition to content display, the same metrics will also be used by Meta for advertising.
