Global tablet shipments increased to 37.4 million units at a rate of 11% year-on-year in Q3 2024, according to Canalys' latest report. The increase was driven by favorable consumer demand momentum for the tablet segment. In addition to the seller's strategy that lowers the price of the product for a certain period of time helps increase sales.
Apple is seen to remain at the top with 36.3% market share and 13.6 million tablet units sold. This growth was supported by strong demand for the new iPad Mini which also features Apple Intelligence. Samsung ranked second with tablet shipments of 6.9 million units and an increase in projected growth of 12.4% year-on-year. Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi also completed the top five chart.
Lenovo showed a growth of 14.4% year-on-year, while Xiaomi showed the most amazing achievement with the highest increase reaching 58.4% year-on-year. Huawei shipped 2.9 million units which is equivalent to a 28.8% year-on-year growth.
