Google Messages Also Allows Users to Send Photos and Videos in Original Quality

Google Messages is Google's iMessage using RCS. This universal RCS is also now supported by Apple. Most recently, Google continues to improve Google Messages by now supporting features similar to WhatsApp and Telegram.

Users are finally allowed to send photo or video files in original quality. Google took Telegram as an inspiration, where the album menu to select photos is now integrated with the camera viewfinder. Then there will also be a Folders option to select photos or videos from elsewhere.

Two quality options will be provided, namely Optimize for chat and Original quality. One is a compressed file but optimized for messaging applications, while the second is the original file format. The original file will have the HD+ label. This update is still in the testing stage and will be distributed to everyone in the coming weeks.
