Google TV Devices Now Requires At Least 2GB RAM Memory

Google TV is the operating system of the new generation of Android TV. It is still built based on Android but has been modified to be friendly for use on televisions. Google TV can also be used by any manufacturer that has a license with Google. Now Google has set a minimum memory limit for Google TV devices after not having strict specification standards for a long time.

This is not really a surprise, but was expected to happen due to changes in Android itself. It's just that before Google TV devices, no matter what chip or how many GB of memory, can only run this operating system. Coming soon, Google TV devices need at least 2GB of RAM. Google TV is a slightly heavier system because it has another, smarter launcher on top of Android TV.

Speaking of Android TV, devices with this operating system now require a memory of at least 1GB of RAM compared to the previous 1.5GB of RAM. If before 1.5GB was for TVs with 1080p and 4K resolution, it is now separated with 1080p 1GB RAM and 4K 1.5GB RAM. At the moment it is not certain when this change will affect manufacturers.

In the Malaysian market, most televisions already use 1.5GB to 2GB of RAM memory. In overseas markets, Google TV Streamer is available with 4GB of RAM. Let's wait together.
