The issue of hacked companies doesn't seem to have an end for now, but this time, the demands from hackers seem to be quite interesting.
Schneider Electric, a power supply engineering and management company from France was recently hacked, and 40GB of the company's confidential data was stolen by the hacking group. It is reported that the data that has been stolen includes project details, issues regarding specific projects and also 400 thousand lines of user data of the company.
What is interesting about this hack attack is that it is reported that the hacker group has demanded a ransom of $125,000, but they want the payment to be made in the form of baguette bread, and not cash or cryptocurrency.
The group further warned that if their demands were not met, details of the stolen data would be spread openly on the dark web, where Schneider Electric would have another big problem on their hands.
However, they also said that if the company admits that its IT systems have been hacked, the group will cut the ransom demanded in half, but will still have to pay in bread.
Some reports say that the request for payment is made in the form of bread as a joke, but the hacking issue is real and very serious.
For now, Schneider Electric seems to have released a statement about their system being hacked, in the hope that the stolen data is not disseminated in the dark web arena.
