Harley Davidson is a motorcycle brand that has a consumer image that is muscular, dashing, masculine and a little dangerous. But by 2026, they will start offering electric scooters through their sub-brand LiveWire. The LiveWire electric scooter prototype was shown at the EICMA event last week and it is the result of a collaboration with KYMCO, a company that manufactures ICE scooters.
The two concepts shown use the LiveWire S2 drive train with a more relaxed design and aim to be sold in the European market. Although two concepts were shown, LiveWire says it is not the final design for the electric scooter that will be launched in the first half of 2026. The last time Harley Davidson offered a scooter to customers was in 1960 with the Harley Davidson Topper.
Harley Davidson is no longer trying to offer high-performance electric motorcycles after their debut effort in 2019 was not well received by fans who still wanted to use ICE motorcycles. Therefore the LiveWire sub-brand is separated by offering more affordable electric motorcycles and short-distance leisure use in the city.
