Head of Meta AR Glasses Division Migrates To OpenAI

Meta's head of augmented reality (AR) glasses development, Caitlin Kalinowski has migrated to OpenAI. In a status upload to LinkedIn, Kalinowski said he is now leading OpenAI's consumer robotics and hardware division to bring physical products that will use OpenAI software.

Previously OpenAI expressed its desire to develop a physical artificial intelligence (AI) device that is not a smartphone. He works at Meta and is involved in the development of the company's various AI devices including the Orion glasses which are currently only prototypes for internal use.

Before that he worked at Apple with involvement in the production of MacBook. Kalinowski is believed to once again work with Jony Ive who is involved with the OpenAI artificial intelligence device project.
