Honda Shows Two Concept Electric Motorcycles

Honda is slow in offering electric vehicles compared to other manufacturers. At the EICMA event that took place last week, Honda showed a concept electric motorcycle that shows the future of their two-wheeled vehicles.

EV Fun Concept and EV Urban Concept are two concept electric motorcycles targeting two different categories of consumers. The EV Fun Concept is a motorcycle that competes directly with the 650cc engine motorcycle. The design looks elegant and aggressive with front and rear disc brake systems. Energy from the electric motor is transferred to the rear wheels using a belt system.

There is no information on motor power and battery capacity at this point. Honda simply says the CCS2 charging standard will be used to enable fast battery charging and a range of up to 100 km. The battery is also permanent and not replaceable.

The EV Urban Concept is an electric scooter for leisurely rides in the city. At first glance it looks like the design of the BMW CE 04. Each of these electric motorcycles is designed to be paired with a smartphone application. At this point, Honda says the EV Fun Concept is targeted to be sold to the public starting in 2025.
