Intel Expected to Showcase Graphics Cards Based on Xe 2 “Battlemage” In December

In the middle of this year, Intel has introduced their latest graphics processing chip series, Xe2 "Battlemage" which is used on the recent Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake processing chip, through the Intel Arc 140V processing chip.

Recently, there are rumors that Intel is expected to introduce SoC components based on this Intel Arc Xe 2 Battlemage graphics chip in the desktop class graphics card design as early as next month.

This was pointed out by Tomasz Gawronski on X/Twitter and Gazlog where they recently posted a promotional image of the product.

This is quite interesting because so far, we know that AMD and NVIDIA are expected to show a number of new products at CES 2025 in January, including the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme SoC and AMD RDNA4 graphics technology, while NVIDIA will introduce a series of GeForce RTX graphics cards 5000 them.

Intel may choose December 2024 as the date of the announcement of this new product may be a way to ensure that their products get as much media attention as possible, and so that their products do not overlap with announcements from other technology companies during the CES 2025 event later.

Intel also seems to confirm that they also intend to introduce another series of graphics processing chips named Celestial after Battlemage. This was already in Intel's graphics technology production plan a few years ago, so it's not surprising.

Intel is expected to try to enter the mid-range graphics market with its Battlemage offering, perhaps for computers that want to play modern computer games, but don't want to spend too much money on it.
