E-commerce sites from China are quite popular in Malaysia because they offer cheap sales prices and a wider selection of products. Among the popular ones is Taobao whose application recently received an update with English language support to make it easier for buyers in Malaysia. Recently, another popular Chinese e-commerce site has become available for the local market.
This e-commerce site is JD.com or its full name is Jingdong. If you are not familiar with JD, its original name was 360buy. It is famous as a large e-commerce site that competes with Alibaba's Tmall. In conjunction with the Singles Day sale on November 11, JD.com is not only open in Malaysia but also in Thailand.
JD also offers free shipping from China directly to Malaysia with purchases of RMB399 (~RM245.38) and above. This delivery is limited to a weight of 6kg by sea and 2kg by air.
For now, JD.com says their e-commerce site focuses on Chinese users outside of China only. Because of that JD.com does not yet offer an interface with English like Taobao.
