Matter 1.4 Standard Promises Better Multiple IoT Ecosystem Support

The Matter 1.4 standard was announced by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) today to fix issues with previous standards. The biggest change is the enhanced multi-admin system that promises to better support the various ecosystems of connected devices (IoT).

Although Matter is supposed to solve the problem of there being various IoT ecosystems, its implementation in real-world products has been slow. Through Matter 1.4, the home router and Access Point standards are also improved to support Thread routers.

Additionally support for solar panels, batteries, heat pumps and water heaters are also finally added to the Matter ecosystem. At the moment only Google and Amazon say they will support Matter 1.4 starting next year.
