Today, another video streaming service has entered the Malaysian market, namely Max, replacing the previous HBO Go offering. Through it, it offers shows from popular brands like HBO, Harry Potter, DC Universe, Cartoon Network, Warner Bros, Discovery, and others.
As with Netflix, users can create up to five profiles for each subscription, watch on multiple devices at a time, are optimized for children, and come with the option of 4K streaming through it. Applications can already be downloaded on Android, iOS, iPadOS, Android TV, Samsung Tizen and tvOS platforms today in Malaysia. Coinciding with the launch of Max this morning, the HBO Go app is no longer working with it suggesting users download a new app.
A total of two plans are offered, where the basic Max Standard plan costs RM34.90 per month which offers full HD streaming support on two devices at a time. The Max Ultimate plan is priced at RM52.90 per month which allows videos to be streamed on 4 devices simultaneously, and offers 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos support.
Annual plans are also available with additional savings, priced at RM279.90 per year or RM424.90 per year, respectively. It offers savings of up to 33% per year compared to monthly payments. Max also provides a mobile subscription plan, but it is limited through some of their partners.
HBO Go subscribers can use Max directly today by logging in with their old email and password without having to make a new subscription. For those of you who are interested, you can check the Max page today which replaces HBO Go.
