If you use Microsoft 365 productivity software, Microsoft Malaysia has recently announced that they will start introducing another price increase for the software subscription.
Through the Microsoft Malaysia website, it can be shown that starting in November 2024, Microsoft 365 will come with a subscription price of RM44 for the Personal plan subscription, while for the Microsoft 365 Family plan, it will start at a price of RM54 per month.
This price increase is seen as quite surprising because Microsoft has already updated the Microsoft 365 subscription price last July which showed an increase in the price of the plan from RM36 to RM44 per month for the Microsoft 365 Family plan.
For now, Microsoft Malaysia seems to have only updated their subscription website, and has not sent a notification email to inform users that this subscription price increase will take place starting this month.
In our hunch, this increase in price may be because recently, Microsoft has added the AI Copilot feature to productivity software Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote, all software under Microsoft 365 subscription, and this price increase is " additional” cost for adding the feature.
