Microsoft Introduces Cloud-Connected PCs To Stream Windows To Monitors – Windows 365 Link

Microsoft today introduced a new offering, which is a compact PC whose main purpose is to connect to the internet, and stream the operating system from the cloud. This computer includes the basic services of the Windows operating system, where it simply connects the user to the cloud, and all applications, software and documents are streamed from the cloud, and not stored on the device.

Named Windows 365 Link, it appears to be aimed more at enterprise users. Nothing will be run through the device, instead everything will be through the cloud – thus providing more security and safety to the user.

In terms of specifications, Windows 365 Link will support two 4K monitor displays, 4 USB ports, Ethernet connection, WiFi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.3, and connection to other computer accessories. This device has the ability to play high-quality videos, and also for video conferencing purposes without any problems.

Using it, users just need to log in to their enterprise Windows 365 account, and everything will be loaded onto the computer. This at once makes Windows 365 Link ideal for those who are not always in the office, and need computer access sometimes – and are constantly switching users, since no files are stored on the computer, and each login leads to a different Windows 365 computer access.

Microsoft also said various other brands will also be present with Windows 365 Link offerings. Microsoft is aiming for general availability for this device starting in April 2025. Microsoft appears to be targeting enterprise users for this initial phase, and requires a Windows 365 account along with Microsoft Intune and a Microsoft Entra ID to use it.
