Minecraft is the fourth highest selling video game after the Mario, Call of Duty and Tetris series. For Gen Z and Gen Alpha, it's a pretty popular game and that's why Mojang announced a collaboration with Merlin Entertainments to open a Minecraft theme park.
Two Minecraft theme parks will open in the United Kingdom and the United States. Merlin is the company that also manages Legoland, Madame Tussaud's and Alton Tower theme parks. Their decades of expertise and experience will be used to create a theme park that is able to provide the experience of being in the world of Minecraft.
The locations of the theme parks to open have not been announced but Merlin announced an £85 million commitment to open the first two parks which will open in 2026 and 2027.
