Apple AirTag launched in 2021 as their first object tracker. It was immediately used to track stolen goods, the location of baggage misdelivered by airlines and also successfully revealed garbage not being recycled as promised. At the same time it has been misused for luxury car robberies and covert stalking activities.
In the middle of next year, the second generation AirTag will be launched according to a report by Mark Gurman at Bloomberg with several improvements. First of all, AriTag's tracking distance will be greater so that users can find objects more easily. Next it will be equipped with a new UWB chip supported by iPhone 15 and above.
Next, the speaker will be more difficult to remove to prevent it from being used as a snooping device. Overall in terms of external design, no significant difference will be made on the second generation AirTag later.
